What is Optimization?

Territory optimization is the process of designing or adjusting territories to maximize efficiency, performance, and coverage. In earlier modules, we explored how to manually restructure territories by reviewing balance metrics and reassigning areas. Now, we shift to the Optimizer, eSpatial’s automated tool that streamlines and accelerates this process. The Optimizer uses your selected balance criteria, such as workload, sales potential, or weighted values, to automatically redesign and realign your territories. Instead of manually moving areas, you simply choose how many territories you want and which metric you want balanced. The Optimizer will redistribute areas automatically to create territories that are as evenly aligned as possible.
